Kingfisher Nights

Inspired by a love of music that invokes the natural world, each episode of Kingfisher Nights follows a loose theme based around a single bird species or topic, with music featuring artists and songs (sometimes cheekily, sometimes tangentially) invoking the bird, its native habitat and behaviors.
A mix of field recordings from the bird's habitats and spoken word passages discussing the bird's beauty, quirks and threats to survival (both natural and manmade) usher listeners between songs, creating an immersive palette through which we can ruminate on conservation.

Zane Warman is a DJ, producer, and amateur birding enthusiast, originally from Cincinnati, OH and currently in Park Slope, Brooklyn. A lifelong enthusiast for offbeat music and snoop for bizarre sounds, he is the host of Realtime Dreaming every 2nd and 4th Monday on Brainrot Radio, showcasing the 'four S' pillars of his favorite music (Sweet, Strange, Sentimental, and Stupid).
